The Connections between the
Mouth & The Body
Partnering with other practitioners, such as CranioSacral therapists, speech pathologists, functional medicine doctors, and myofunctional therapists, plays an integral role in our treatment philosophy. By recognizing the connections between the mouth and body, our dentists can tailor your individual care to specifically address the underlying causes of dental disease, rather than just treating the symptoms.

Many people equate dentists with “tooth doctors.” Teeth are certainly a big part of the equation, but teeth are only important if they are connected to people. I therefore see dentistry as far more than “fixing teeth.” It is really about achieving optimum health, esthetics, and function for our patients. When I see a problem in the mouth, I not only want to fix the problem but also figure out why it happened in the first place so we can find ways to stop the problem from happening again.

Dentistry has come a long way since I graduated in 1993 from the University of Iowa, College of Dentistry. Materials have improved, technology has advanced, and we are providing our patients with options that we never even dreamed of before. My philosophy is to provide the very best care possible to every patient who comes to our office.
